The most visited individual page was "The history of Chinese fakes (updated)", a look at the supposed map showing the Chinese beat Columbus to America. I'm watching George W. Bush's State of the Union right now and they seem to speaking English, not Mandarin.
Hey guys, i see that MAJ fellow has now posted on his freewebs site about half a dozen porn shots of himself with his little Chinese chicky babe! Didn't know he was into home made porn as well as a being a blog prank. Is it common for Chinese chicks to partake in this sorta thing?
Wow! I see ACB has also seen the MAJ porn site at chinaeros.blog.com and she's really prudish about it. He had them up on his freewebs site the other week but deleted them all about an hour after I started alerting the readers of various blogs.

Before I get to the numbers for September, a few important announcements.
1. With the help of my good buddy Jim, I have registered and steup the website http://www.simonworld.net as a secondary adress for this blog. Both sites will have exactly the same information and format, and either can be read, linked, or referenced in the usual manner. There is no need to adjust your bookmarks or links, but this should make it easier for those who find the .mu.nu domain too difficult to deal with while providing a potential backup site...just in case.
2. I have had the pleasure of using Phin from apothegm design to do some maintenance work around the site. The response was quick, the cost modest and the results perfect. If you need any site work or design help, give 'em a call.

* The most visited individual page remains the "Nancy Kissel trial archive".
It would have made more sense all round to have the Friday and Monday off. The travel industry would have preferred that as well. Still, can't expect sense from the SAR govt.
Might be accepting gainful employment in your neck of the woods soon.

953 people added you to their Favourites THIS MONTH?! That's a lot a new regular readers. I've always wanted to ask though, how on earth do you have technology that tells you that someone, somewhere added you to their Favourites? I just can't understand how that would register.
1,700+ visits per day? That's more than the Peking Duck isn't it?
Oh, by the way, please pass on my thanks to Dave (?) for holding the fort while you were away. 2 weeks without the Linklets isn't something I want to repeat anytime soon.
I get the data from my server stats. The numbers ignore visits from robots and search engines, but will inevitably include some spammers and others that aren't human visitors. That's right, aliens visit this site! As for the favourites, it comes from the same stats package. I assume each time someone does it, the browser makes a note of it. The number does seem high, so I'm not sure of it, but it might also reflect those using Firefox's live updates etc. I agree they seem high, but it flatters my ego, and that's what this is all about!
Richard likely gets more visitors, but you'd need to ask him.
Thanks. I remember Echo once saying in a comment that TPD has 1,500 visitors. Anyway, 1,500/1,700 are both good for a China-related site I think.
BTW, I popped out this morning (in Guangzhou) and passed a few petrol stations with amazingly long queues. The driver told me what what going on. There's a story in today's SCMP called "Petrol supplies are suspended or reduced" which explains. Interesting.
Hope you're going to crack on with your economy posts. Me and a couple of mates are standing by. Also found a new China economy blog called Survived Sars. The guy mainly writes about the Yuan exchange rate. It's worth checking out.

Some geographical data although it isn't that reliable (especially given the use of proxy servers):
US = 55%
EU = 8.9%
Australia = 6.5%
Singapore = 6.0%
Hong Kong = 5.0%
China = 3.3%
Alternatively a time zone share study via Sitemeter says about 35% are from Asia Pacific, 15% from Europe and 48% from the Americas.
Hmmm, I know you said that the geograpihical data isn't that reliable but only 3.3% from China? I find that figure stunning as I'm in China and via regular reading of pekingduck, I know that many others in China read simonworld.
I've just returned to China but I remember reading simonworld a few years ago (pre-Daily Linklets of course---BTW that was quite a brainwave you had there although it must take up a bit of time to search for the best links each day I imagine) when you had only a couple of hundred visitors each day.
Now it's 1,700+. COngratualtions mate, all well deserved via hard graft I'm sure.
Still, it's good to see that you've now become a bit of a leading China pundit these days and I notice you're now the Winds Of Change China boy. Onwards and Upwards!
I'm one of the 965 that added you to their Firefox Bookmarks this month. I'm just wondering how on earth you know if someone added you to their bookmarks/favourites?
Thanks very much, Joe. I get the numbers from my hosting package.
You're right on geography - it depends where the server is based, so any users of proxy servers will show up as USA. That's why I put the timezone share up as well, as it likely gives a better feel for where readers are.
* 20,230 unique visitors made 47,448 unique visits, reading a total of 91,742 pages and drawing 5.73 GB of bandwidth.
* This equals 1,531 visits per day reading 2,959 pages each day. In other words each visitor read 1.93 pages on average. Each visitor returned on average 2.34 times during the month.
* 731 added this site their to favourites. 182 subscribe via Bloglines and 107 via Feedburner.
* 64.7% of you use IE, 20.2% Firefox, 3.2% Safari, 2.2% Mozilla, 1.9% Opera and 1.1% Netscape to browse this site. 86% of you use Windows, 6.3% Mac, 1.6% Linux.
* 15.3% of visits were via search engines, of which Google was 67.1% and Yahoo 25.8%. The top search phrases were "Hong Kong Disneyland", "Nancy Kissel" and "China's Population". And thanks to my guest blogger I'm getting a good number of hits for "Korean babes".
* The most visited individual pages were the "Everything you wanted to know about blogging but were afraid to ask" (thanks to a Times article linking it), "Korean babes by blog" (told you) and "Google and the Great Firewall".
Update
At Bingfeng's request, some geographical data although it isn't that reliable (especially given the use of proxy servers):
US = 52%
Australia = 8.6%
China = 5.1%
Singapore = 4.75%
Hong Kong = 4.45%
EU = 3%
Alternatively a time zone share study via Sitemeter says about 40% are from Asia Pacific, 15% from Europe and 39% from the Americas, which totals only 94%. The other 6% must be aliens.
But the good news is, I like to think that I cover the area of the world that you don't-you're the serious Asian-located business and local politics-regaling blogger, and I do mental, sentimental, and the occasional raunch.
So put us together and we get....what? A peanut butter and vegemite sandwich, or just a less wealthy Hugh Hefner? Hmm....
An honour to be reader of the month! Despite all the comments of how I have abused your credit card, you must admit that Misti is looking good, even though your kids can no longer afford school!
In return of this honour I will offer an "on the house" anal sac squeeze for your next visit- for Misti only!

* 13.5% of visits were via search engines, of which Google was 61.5% and Yahoo 26.3%. The top search phrases were "Hong Kong Disneyland", "Nancy Kissel" and "China's Population". Curiously 157 people searched for Simon World via search engines and landed at this site. I've got that top spot all tied up.
* The most visited individual pages were the "China/Japan tensions", "Best Singapore Blog" and "China's other riots".
Thank you to everyone else who also linked and visited.
As I did last month, some stats for March:

Damn, Simon, that is extraordinary. I guess it really is just a testament to the outstanding quality of your writing, your thinking, your topics, and just the whole blog.
As my Australian friends taught me to say, Good on you!
Just started reading your blog a few days ago, and am already quite enamored of it. I'm doing the whole 'gwailo in Hong Kong' thing, and it's interesting to see a different (and generally much more mature) perspective on things. I'm a bit of a statwhore myself, so here's mine:
17689 unique users
22430 visits (1.26 visits/visitor) 43890 pages (1.95 pages/visit) 260101 hits (11.59 hits/visit) 7.22 GB bandwidth (337.69 KB/visit)
Odd how two very different sites can attract almost exactly the same amount of visitors over the same period. Look forward to your further posts, and keep up the good work.
