It's curious that since the Presidential debates Kerry's Vietnam record seems to have taken a distant back seat to the actual issues in the election. It wasn't before time, either. What amazes me is it took the Democrats so long to realise that the 'nam thing was not helping their candidate. The shame of it is there will now only be a few weeks where the issues will be debated, and more than 90% of the electorate have already made up their mind. If Kerry loses, that was his fatal error. He spent too long on Vietnam and not long enough on current issues. That is, Americans just aren't willing to believe that any mand who served in Vietnam could really be a liberal.
