China's middle class
Philip Bowring over at Asia Sentinel has a go at measuring the size of China's middle class and comes to a much smaller number than you may think. One point is whether "class" is a relative or absolute measure: China's "middle class" according to the Chinese themselves may vastly differ to those who would be "middle class" on a global basis. posted by Simon on 04.11.07 at 02:15 PM in the China economy category.
