April's fool

SCMP editor-in-chief Mark Clifford resigned yesterday after a brief tenure in the SCMP hot seat. Over at Asia Sentinel they nicely summarise Clifford's eventful reign at Hong Kong's best fish-wrapper. It seems an odd time to leave, given the pending redesign and new look, which most of Hong Kong doesn't realise is on the way or care about. Mr Clifford is off to join something called the Asia Business Council. There's a nice joke in there somewhere about an editor going back to his ABC.
