Reminds me of a call I got from a fairly large local bank, sometimes referred to as the Home for Scottish Bean Counters, last week on my mobile. After telling me that my chequing account was going to be overdrawn if my rent cheque was cleared (first piece of detailed information about my account given out over the phone without checks as to who they were talking to) and asking me transfer money from the savings account to cover it (thereby confirming that I have sufficient in that account to cover the rent - the second piece of detailed information given out without checking who I was), I asked how much I needed to transfer. "Oh, I can't tell you that - it's confidential". posted by: fumier on 02.08.05 at 10:46 AM [permalink]Think your brother will be able to get the DNA sample to them by the end of the day? How about the lock of hair from his first born? posted by: RP on 02.08.05 at 11:50 PM [permalink]Nope, just the Trio ... Left nut, left eye and left kidney. That should do. posted by: mdmhvonpa on 02.10.05 at 04:01 AM [permalink]I have a joint account with my partner, and I had to call the bank. They asked me account information which, since I don't care, I didn't know. I went to ask my partner when the bank manager began screaming down the line-"If you talk to ANYONE while on this call, I will terminate the phone call immediately!" I asked why, since my partner is the joint account holder. They told me it's in case I was making the call under duress. It puzzled me-. These young kids and their new terms for $ex, nowadays. They'll call it just about anything. posted by: Helen on 02.10.05 at 07:13 PM [permalink] |
