Easy pickings
The sorry tale of two diners ejected for over-indulging is too good to leave alone. Sui Amaama, who along with his wife have been on the Atkins Diet for two weeks, was asked to leave after he went up to the buffet at the Chuck-A-Rama in Salt Lake City, Utah, for his 12th slice of roast beef..."We went in to have dinner, we were under the impression Chuck-A-Rama was an all-you-can-eat establishment." Not so, said Jack Johanson, the restaurant chain's district manager.Gluttony and the fad Atkins diet, all in one story. I knew that diet would lead people into trouble. But what I really like is the name of the place, "Chuck-A-Rama". Any eatery so-named really deserves whatever it gets, except patrons. posted by Simon on 04.26.04 at 12:07 PM in the

Isn't this a storyline from The Simpsons? It's a subtle distinction between buffet and all-you-can-eat, so perhaps they should make it clear that they are following the Pizza Hut approach and give patrons a small bowl and challenge them to pile it as high as possible on their single visit. posted by: Chris on 04.26.04 at 11:22 PM [permalink]Not sure that non-Aussies use the word "chuck" the way we do. In this case a "chuck-a-rama" suggests to me that you would be "chucking" up all night after eating there. Hence perfectly compatible with weight loss :-) posted by: Ozguru on 04.27.04 at 11:47 AM [permalink] |
