Tinkering

I've made a small change to this site. As part of my completely cack-handed learning of html process, and with a little help I've split this page into two columns. This is because some people have been having problems reading the site on different systems and browsers.

Only problem now is the table is split right down the middle. Anyone know how I can move the split so the second column (sidebar) is say only 30% of the width???

That'll teach me to tinker late on a Friday.

By the way, Susie, here's a fellow Asian blog (he's already on my roll) and his post for the New Blog Showcase.

UPDATE: Problem solved. An Englishman helping out an Aussie, who would have thought?

Buy Viagra! No, wait, that wasn't what I wanted to say at all...

All you have to do is specify a wdith for the second TD tag (i.e. the one just above the meet the cast title in the template) and you can do this by adding the following parameter after the valign param:

width="30%"

bingo. the whole tag should now read

<td width="30%" valign="top">

hope that helps

and of course when I said after the valign param I menat before ;-) It doesn't matter either way though...

That's exactly why you're on the blogroll. Coz you know stuff.

OK, so I managed to do it; sure I screwed up 5 times first, found an extra ; and " and one too many valigns, but now I can go home reasonably happy.

Thanks Rob. U da man.

Sorry, I only checked your emails this morning. It's all related to %'s, but I see you've fixed it. If you want to get rid of the gaps, then use cellspacing="0" and cellpadding="0".

Again, www.w3schools.org should have info to help you out with that.

Cheers
