O Jonny the power of your bootThere's more, if you can stand it, in the extended entry. This poem took the Poet Laureate three months. He resolved his problems of rhyming with Wilkinson by using first names. Brilliant. Wordsworth must be turning in his grave. This poem could have been (and perhaps was) written by a primary school poetry class, who still would have been given fails for it. Appalling.

it is a bit feeble, but at least he had a victory to write about, unlike some countries... how's the cricket going today by the way?

I see that they will be taken Poet Laureate applications from grown-ups soon, then.
